THE AFADZATO South Parliamentary seat is up for a fierce contest following the “retirement” of the incumbent member, Hon Joseph Amenowode after three terms of dedicated service, to his constituents.
So far six people including the District Chief Executive (DCE) Madam Angela Oforiwa Alorwu Tay, have expressed their desire to contest for the position.
But one man who stands tall among them is 46-year-old Agbesi Nutsu, who believes he has the leadership skills, having gone through the political mill over the years.
Mr Nutsu who holds a degree in marketing and final year MBA student in corporate governance at the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA), is without any iota of doubt the favorite choice of the youth within the constituency.
He told DAILY GUIDE in an interview that his political career started from 1992 when the ban on politics was lifted.
The aspirant had been a member of IPAC of the EC from 1994 to 1996. He was also the national youth organizer of the defunct EGLE Party.
Mr Nutsu who hails from the Liati Traditional Area said “I believe my people have all it takes to turn things around in their lives and what they now need is a competent leader like me to make it happen”.
“With the right leadership and with the support of the people, we can bring about the political and developmental change that has for many years eluded us’’.
He was filled with indignation at the many undeveloped tourism potentials dotted all over the constituency adding, “that will be my main preoccupation when elected as the next Member of Parliament for the area in other to create the much needed jobs for the people.”
Othe contestants are Susie Afua Adoboe, Kafui August Takyi, Reuben Kwamla Kornu, Eben Kay Hodo.
