Dza Nyonmo Dance Ensemble, a traditional/contemporary dance group based in Accra, will this week embark on a performance tour of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Noted for highly expressive dance moves that are full of energy, the group is scheduled to perform and hold workshops at the Global Village, a location which is easily the most prominent cultural, shopping and entertainment destination in the Emirates.

Led by Edward Dogbe, Dza Nyonmo Dance Ensemble has performed to cheering audiences in various parts of the country and hosted dancers from various European countries including Germany and The Netherlands.

The group performed for Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II and the Prime Ministers of Brunei and Jamaica during their respective visits to Ghana. They showcased rich dance forms from various parts of Ghana.

Dogbe and master drummer Jerry Dzokoto have choreographed a number of dance pieces including “The Son”, an educational dance on the HIV AIDS menace, “Yaa Asantewa” and “Horse Tail” as well as leading the group for a highly successful collaboration with the Chiku Awali Dance Company from the United States.

Global Village also provides its visitors with various entertainment and recreational activities, as well as cultural experiences and shopping opportunities all in a beautiful outdoor environment.
