Western NPP Women Strategize For Elections

FORMER AND current constituency women’s organizers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Western region have attended a capacity-building workshop at Bogoso in the region to strategize towards winning the December 7 general elections.

The three-day workshop organized by NPP Regional Women’s Organizer, Joan Abena Kwallah was also attended by some regional executives of the party.

It was aimed among other things to sensitize the women on what they needed to do to help the NPP win back power.

In an address, Madam Kwallah appealed to the constituency  organizers to stop all internal bickering among themselves and work hard to complement the efforts of the party to wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

She said the NPP would never remain in opposition as long as the women who were in constant touch with the grassroots went the extra mile to campaign for the party in the remote areas.

The regional women’s organizer also asked the women to submit regular reports on their operations to her outfit for them to receive the necessary assistance from the party in order to effectively execute their plans.

Madam Kwallah challenged the women to mobilize their constituents to draw up strategic action plans to woo more people to the NPP.

She called on the women to remain steadfast, unite their ranks and organize themselves to stage a more effective campaign that would attract non-NPP members to accept the party’s campaign massage.

Gladys Asmah, former Minister of Women and Children’s Affairs charged the women to be courageous and lead the party since they formed the majority in the NPP.

She also asked the constituency women organizers to be mindful of their lifestyle which she noted could drive away potential members of the party.

“I urge you to foster unity among your ranks since the victory of the party partly rests on your shoulders,” she told the women.

Kojo Acquah, NPP Deputy National Organizer remarked that the NPP was the only political party that could give meaning to the lives of ordinary Ghanaians by facilitating the fast growth of the economy and by placing people at the centre of national development.

He however expressed concern about the perceived wrangling among the women and called on them to take action to address the menace.

The participants were full of appreciation to Madam Kwallah for her initiative to hold the workshop to sharpen their skills in politics.
