He said in an interview, “So far over 1,000 prospective runners in the Mass Sport are through with the registration process and we’re hoping the number would soar as the event approaches.
“Registration for the U-15 category began last Monday and the response has been very encouraging as usual.
“On Monday, medical screening for the runners will take full force, but as we speak, the Stadium Clinic (Civil Service Clinic) has already begun with the screening,” he added.
The Dansoman Keep Fit Club, organizers of the event, Adjin Tettey’s Residence, Dansoman, Control, Pee Tay (High Street), Ebony Restaurant, Nkrumah Circle and the Stadium Clinic at the Accra Stadium, Abrantie Sport, Lapaz, Max Mart, 37, and the Tema Stadium have been earmarked as centers for the registration exercise.
The 42 km Mass Sport race, as usual, will start from Nungua, The Point and end at the Dansoman Keep Fit Club, with the U-15 category, now reduced from 15 to 5km, starting from the Azumah Nelson Complex to the Dansoman Keep Fit Club.
