Berekum Chelsea Dutch manager Hans Vader Plyume is not perturbed despite failing to grab all points, as they strive to realize their Champions League semi-final dream.
He believed that with two games in hand, an all-attacking game strategy was the golden ticket to take them to the semifinals, alongside likely candidates Al-Ahly.
Ahly forced Chelsea to a 1-1 draw game in Accra on Sunday, blighting their semi-final dream.
But Coach Plyume, in a post-match interview, noted, “We will go all out in our next two games. In fact, that is the only way we can progress in the competition.”
“We have no choice than to win against Zamalek in Cairo as well as TP when we host them here. You see, in football anything can happen, so it is not over yet for Chelsea, I am sure we will qualify,” he added.
He blamed his side’s defeat on the fact that they created many scoring chances but failed in all their attempts except the one that handed them the equalizer.
Plyume commended the team despite the stalemate result, saying, “The team did well, especially in the second half; the defence was exceptional.”
Chelsea will play as guests of bottom-placed Zamalek who have no point on the group table, in Cairo on September 1.
