There is no doubt, dancehall sensation, Kaakie, has had a good year so far, though she has not released her debut album.
So far, all her five singles have gone on to become hits and have earned her opportunities to perform on the biggest event platforms alongside, Demarco, Keri Hilson, Movado, Busy Signal, Bow Wow, Samini and some popular artistes in African music. Her hits have earned her three places on Nigeriaâ€™s biggest DJ, DJ Neptuneâ€™s Ghana meets Naija mixtape.
Her first three singles â€˜Ewoâ€™, â€˜Too muchâ€™ and â€˜Toffee pon tongueâ€™, were featured on the mixtape which also featured songs from Ghanaâ€™s EL, Sarkodie, Kwaw Kesse, Stay Jay, Guru, 4×4, Keche, Buk Bak and Nigeriaâ€™s Davido, Tiwa Savage, Brymo, Naeto C, MI among others.
With this development, it meant Nigerians were bumping to Kaakieâ€™s great songs. Already, there were reports that her songs, particularly, â€˜too muchâ€™ and â€˜toffee pon tongueâ€™, were receiving rotations on radio and in the nightclubs in South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, UK, Netherlands, Spain, Norway and now, Nigeria.
Currently signed on to Â music producer, Jam Master Jay and UK-based music and marketing specialist, Royce Greeneâ€™s XL Music and managed by Ghanaian media and entertainment veteran, Sadiq Abdulai Abu, Kaakie has released five singles so far, including â€˜Ewoâ€™, â€˜Too muchâ€™, â€˜Toffee pon tongueâ€™, and the recently released, â€˜DC tun Upâ€™ and â€˜Top Gyal timeâ€™.
