The CEO of Geodrill Company Ltd, David Harper has blessed Ghana’s amateur boxing quartet- Isaac Dogbe, Duke Micah, Suleman Tetteh and Maxwell Amponsah, with a special cash prize.
The gesture was in recognition of their qualifying for the London 2012 Olympics in keenly-contested qualifiers in Casablanca, Morocco a few weeks ago.
Presenting the special cash prizes, Harper, who is also the chairman of the Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation (GABF) sponsorship committee, congratulated the boxers for the Casablanca feat.
He however urged them to strive for greater heights in the forthcoming competition, stating, “The Olympics is a very big platform. I urge you to do your best to do the country and yourselves proud. Go out there and bring gold. This is from my heart for your brilliance in the Morocco tournament.”
Captain of the side, Maxwell Amponsah thanked the donor for the gesture and promised to replicate the Casablanca feat.
The team is currently pitching camp in Winneba, preparing feverishly for the Olympic Games scheduled for July 27 to August 12 in London.
