Ghana striker Matthew Amoah scored in his first match for Heerenven over the weekend as their pre-season training started.
He scored as they thrashed lower division side Oudega 8-0 in a pre-season friendly.
Amoah also set up two goals in the victory which has sparked hopes that he is regaining his form.
He was among the few players to have played the entire duration of the game for his new club.
The striker is under the tutelage of Dutch striking legend Marco van Basten who is now the coach of Heerenven.
Amoah joined the club two weeks ago and the presence of Van Basten could help him hit the heights and fight for a return to the Black Stars.
