Ghanaian songstress Becca successfully pulled a string of stars from the world of music, film, television and sports to the much anticipated premiere of her latest music video for ‘No Away’ featuring Nigerian rapper M.I at the Excel Lounge, last Friday night.
The star-studded red carpet premiere saw Samini, Okyeame Kwame, Edem, Yvonne Nelson, Irene Logan, D Black, Eazzy, Dr Cryme, Asamoah Gyan, John Paintsil and others looking lovely and well dressed to support Becca and M.I.
The music video, which was sponsored by Kasapreko Alomo Bitters, was shot in Pretoria by one of South Africa’s top-notch production houses, Tough Sunday, who have produced videos for the likes of BET Award nominated Lira.
Using state of the art equipment such as the Red Camera, the video tells a poignant love story between Becca and M.I that transcends two generations.
Having done different collaborations with different acts, Becca publicly thanked the short black boy, “I want to use this platform and say a very big ‘thank you’ to M.I from the very first day he hopped into the studio to record his part, to the day of the video shoot in South Africa, to today. He has been a wonderful pal and on behalf of EKB Entertainment, I want to say we appreciate his support”.
‘No Away’ was directed by Brandon Oloefosn, an award winning video director and shot in Pretoria, South Africa by a company called Tough Sunday.
Becca, within a couple of months, has released over four music videos which include ‘Push’ and ‘African Woman’.
The ‘Push’ music video, which is currently being aired on local television networks, is carefully packaged not only for the local market and African continent, but for the entire world at large.
The video features some of the nation’s finest stars including King Ayisoba, Trigmatic, John Dumelo, Yvonne Okoro and Yvonne Nelson.
The ‘African Woman’ video, which was shot in Akosombo, has Becca taking on a completely new personality as a common village girl and a street hawker. It also features actress Martha Ankomah.
The video empowers women to know their capabilities, encouraging them to achieve their dreams and potentials.
