Elections: Let’s Avoid Civil War. Rev. Owusu Bempah’s Confirmative Prophecy

Whilst there are, undoubtedly, false prophets in this our country, there are also TRUE prophets of God to balance the spiritual equation. And this fact makes the spiritual dialectics in the country very interesting. It therefore amounts to silly thinking to argue that all prophets are false and makes false prophecies. Of course, there are true ones who predict events and they come true. And Rev. Dr. Owusu Bempah and Prophet Ako Williams can be mentioned as some of the true prophets of God who announce predictions and they come true.

Three weeks ago, this newspaper published the prophecy of Rev. Owusu Bempah (see page 10 of June 9, 2012 edition), which pinpointed the fact that politicians will plunge the nation into civil war in this year’s December 7 general elections, if care is not taken. He explained that “what will bring about the war is that one of the two major political parties will win the December 7 elections, and the loser will not accept it in good faith.” Rev. Bempah points out the two major political parties as the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which is in government now, and the National Patriotic Party(NPP) which is presently the major opposition party. The upcoming yet avoidable civil war definitely will be caused by the two parties, except absolute care is taken. His expletive word “care” shall be analysed soon.

In the sub-heading of this article (up above) I have used the term “confirmative prophecy” to describe Rev. Bempah’s prediction as one which comes to buttress or confirm an earlier revelation that came to me at the beginning of last year, which I have been re-emphasizing and discussing in my various articles in this newspaper. As a journalist, I have chosen to make my analysis of this civil-war prophecy in a journalistic style so to avoid being branded as an alarmist, whose word is not worthy of being paid any due attention. Of course, this prophecy of mine has been disbelieved by several sections of the society, and the recent skirmishes in various localities during the biometric registration exercise did not mean anything to some people as a warning for a looming civil war in Ghana!

GHANA, AN ISLAND OF PEACE

Thanks be to God, the revelation of Rev. Owusu Bempah has been so startling to him that he has been emboldened to openly announce that in the press in a most formal prophetic utterance. The Lord is revealing to us how some satanic entities have planned to introduce civil war in Ghana to devastate the nation’s people and their enviable infrastructure. The civil war which is being cooked up or constructed in the spiritual realm does not receive the approval of the Almighty God whose special graces have sustained Ghana over several years to the extent that, this nation is proudly described as an island of peace.

Yes, Ghana is an island of peace because it is between and betwixt nations which have been rocked by ruinous political misunderstandings or inter-tribal conflicts which have accentuated into civil wars. Whoever could imagine that the nearby Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia and Sierra Leone which were once calm, peaceful and placid, had to be plunged into destructive civil wars that merely subverted their infrastructure, killed several people or mercilessly maimed some innocent people! Who could imagine the sudden eruption of row, and civil disobedience and their concomitant distresses in Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali etc. But in the midst of all these boiling nations, Ghana has stayed put as the only island of peace, with her people enjoying maximum tranquility and peaceful happiness, and her infrastructure being kept intact or being expanded.

Unfortunately, this is what the devil is seriously seeking to destroy through several wars, especially through fomentation of confrontations between the NDC and NPP, before, during and after the elections. The results of the upcoming December 7 elections will definitely exact disputes and provoke misunderstandings and skirmishes that will spread into a civil war.

DEFEAT WON’T BE ACCEPTED

The NDC will never accept defeat and the NPP will never accept being vanquished. The common rationalization here is that President Atta Mills is set to follow the political convention of eight years rulership, as former Presidents Rawlings and Kuffour enjoyed. In the view of the NDC, Atta Mills has scored several successes in his governance period, as its Green Book indicates, and therefore it will be prudent to win the elections to continue the success trend which will conduce to more achievements. And this will bring more glory to that party. On the other hand, the NDC considers that it will be shameful to allow itself to be defeated with the loss of official perquisites (or allowances) and all incumbency advantages which are being enjoyed. It therefore amounts to outright stupidity to ‘soften’ itself to allow the NPP to break that convention. Hence the NDC is not ready to go, come what may.

The NPP, on the flip side, is geared up to overthrow the NDC during the elections in order to govern the country. It cites several reasons why it should effect that objective, and these include the economic and social hardships which the NDC government has seemingly inflicted on Ghanaians, political mismanagement, Woyome and other judgment debts, and other exigencies that are actuating them to take over the governance of the country. And day in and day out, these reasons are repeated ad infinitum. Besides, the NPP leader himself Akufo Addo probably considers this electoral opportunity as his last chance, after which his party may not elect him to try his hand at reaching the presidency again.

Let me quickly cut in here to say that this could be wrong thinking, because the voting public knows him more than any NPP candidate, and therefore if by any twist of fortune, he fails to win the presidential election, he must be re-elected as the flagbearer again. This time, he is most likely to win. Akuffo Addo has wasted much money and energy in flagbearership politics, and it will be highly reasonable for the NPP to continue to support him to reach the presidency. But coming back to my argument, I am of the view that the NPP is poised to ‘outpoint’ the NDC whatever be the case. Therefore, if they lose in the election, discomfiture, misunderstandings and negative reactions of destruction of property will set in, and the police control tactics will be responded to with equal force by the NPP here and there, with NDC stalwarts fighting to support the police force. Before there is peace, a considerable amount of property must have been destroyed, and several people must have been killed.

WOMEN AGLOW

It is to be emphatically repeated that neither the NDC nor the NPP will be ready to accept defeat. This is Rev. Owusu Bempah’s worry in his prophecy, and he explains: “I am worried about the revelation because the country will not survive it if the war should happen, that is why I want all Ghanaians to stand up and pray for the perpetrators”. Without doubt, prayers and instructions will prevent such a calamity. Some of us have already begun praying about these, and in this regard, I commend WOMEN AGLOW for their constant prayers. They are doing a good spiritual job. Women, keep your prayers aglow. Some of us admire your selfless efforts. And may God reward each one of you greatly. God bless you, WOMEN AGLOW.

Rev. Owusu Bempah has truly seen what is coming upon Ghana and we must pray over it, whilst our politicians must instruct their followers to avoid war. I am sure God will reveal this to some other true prophets. As St. Paul admonishes the nation: “…do not treat prophecies with contempt” (1 Thessalonians 5:20), let us treat the prediction seriously, and caution the NDC and NPP politicians over it. God bless Rev. Dr. Owusu Bempah for his true revelation! (This will be continued next week or thereafter).
