Petition Over Murdered Doctor

Desmond Kabah

The Paga Development Association (PDA) has petitioned the Ghana Police Service to intensify efforts at arresting the murderers of Dr. Desmond Kabah, a medical doctor at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

The Association, in a statement, noted that it was unfortunate that the police had not been able to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of their beloved son, brother and nephew.

The body of Dr. Kabah, son of Alowe Leo Kabah, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Chiana Paga in the Upper East region, was discovered on May, 27, 2012at about 7 pm, two days after his death.

Sources said Dr Kabah’s body was riddled with bruises indicating that he was stabbed severally including his private parts.

However an autopsy conducted on the 27-year-old doctor ruled out any form of violence.

The statement released in Accra and signed by PDA president,  J.B. Achindiba, said the death of the late Dr.kabah was unnatural, as  circumstances surrounding his death were strange and point clearly to murder.

Mr. Achindiba said the death of Dr. Kabah at the age of 27 was a great loss not only to the people of Paga, who saw him as a future leader, but the entire country.

‘That is why the police must pursue the investigations into the death with all seriousness to ensure justice since it is the whole country that is bereaved,” he added.

It noted that PDA was confident in the Ghana Police Service and wouldn’t like that confidence to be betrayed because of the inability of the police to get to the bottom of the matter.

“The whole of the Kassena-Nankana community is in a state of mourning and it is only when the perpetrators are nabbed and dealt with according to the law that the pain inflicted on late Dr.Kabah’s kinsmen and colleagues would be eased,” he noted.
