As part of a working visit to Kumasi, Gregory Metcalf, Managing Director of Accra Brewery Limited (ADB) and Voltic Ghana Limited, paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at his Manhyia palace in Kumasi. 

Both Accra Brewery and Voltic Ghana are subsidiaries of SABMiller Plc.

Accompanied by the management team of Accra Brewery and Voltic Ghana, Mr. Metcalf presented two cheques from both companies totalling GHC20,000 to the Otumfuo Education fund and the Environment, Water and Sanitation Fund of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Charity.  He also made a presentation of 95 assorted cases of products from both companies to Manhyia Palace.

During the visit, Mr Metcalf expressed thanks to His Majesty for granting them audience.

He also informed his Majesty about the state of the two companies, the on-going investment in capacity expansion and how well the companies’ brands are doing.

The Asantehene, receiving the presentation, thanked the delegation for their visit and the donations to his Charity.  He asked that the two companies keep track of the work of his Charity in order to see the good work that the money is put to.

His Majesty also commended the management team of both companies for their good work and encouraged them to keep it up particularly in the area of human resource development.

He added that many Ghanaians employed by both companies will receive high quality training which ultimately benefits Ghana.

It is the aim of ADB and Voltic Ghana to provide sustainable development and support for all the communities they work in, and the companies continue to make significant contributions to the socio-economic development of Ghana.
