Businessman Kennedy Agyepong aka Cappuccino has made a GH¢3,000 donation to the Asante Kotoko team for their camping in Accra.
The team arrived in the capital yesterday ahead of their weekend league clash with Mighty Jets.
The business tycoon, who is also a former board member of Kotoko, in presenting the cash to the club’s special consultant on FA and International Relations, Kwame Baah-Nuakoh and the National Circles PRO, Nana Kwame Dankwah, reaffirmed his promise of a hefty GH¢25,000 reward if the team wins the league.
“One of the eminent supporters of the club, Kennedy Agyapong made the contribution to our representatives,” Kotoko’s spokesman Listowell Bukarson told said.
“We will like to thank him and all others who have been helping the club in diverse ways for the massive support and surely the team aims to make them proud by winning the league title.”
The Porcupine Warriors remain undefeated in twelve matches as they make giant strides towards sealing their 22nd Premier League titles.
Kotoko extended their lead on top of the Ghanaian top flight to twelve points after securing a memorable 2-1 win over archrivals Hearts of Oak last weekend.
Last Sunday, Mr Agyepong congratulated the playing and technical teams of the Porcupine Warriors on the spectacular show they put up against Accra Hearts Oak.
He noted that the competitive spirit exhibited by the players and the belief of the fans in the team, even when it seemed the tables had turned, was worth commending.
“The gallant display by the team and the technical bench was heartwarming. Indeed, if we all lent our support the way the fans rooted for the club, then I am sure the glory days would come again sooner than expected,” he said.
“I can see great things in this current team, led by Maxwell Konadu. I urge all fans and former administrators to come on board so we can push the team further,” said Mr Agyepong in an interview with DAILY GUIDE SPORTS.
Mr Agyepong, CEO of Kenpong Constructions, also congratulated the current board and management of the club for “doing everything to ensure the success of the club”.
